Prince Harry is reportedly touching down in the UK on Monday, July 6, 2026, to mark the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games. However, the Duke of Sussex, 41, will not be accompanied by his wife Meghan Markle, 44, or their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, after his request for taxpayer-funded security was denied, which he deemed too unsafe.
Royal Family's Reaction
According to reports, members of the Royal Family have made no plans to see Harry during his visit. On TalkTV, Jeremy Kyle revealed that the royals have "committed to keeping themselves very busy when he lands in the United Kingdom." Kyle added, "You'd really like to tell him, in the nicest possible way, 'Mate, people are done with it. There's been too much BS.'"
Dickie Arbiter's Criticism
Dickie Arbiter, former press spokesman for Queen Elizabeth II, admitted he "didn't believe for a moment that Meghan was ever going to come to the UK" and criticized Harry for complaining about security after announcing his plans publicly. Arbiter suggested that Harry has "lost his way" since stepping down as a senior working royal, stating, "He's desperately looking for something to do. He knew how to be in the army, he knew how to fly an apache helicopter, but he left the army 10 years ago. Now he's looking for something to do."
Financial Struggles
Arbiter also claimed that the Sussexes have burned bridges in the US and are no longer making money. "They burnt their bridges in the United States. People have seen them for what they are. They're not making money anymore. They need to make money to pay for their lifestyle," he said. He argued that the closer they can get to the British Royal Family, the more Americans will want to use them, but "they're not close to the family and people are running a mile from them." Arbiter concluded, "I think it's a very sad state of affairs that Harry has found himself in, walking out on the family as he did."
