Romeo Beckham has publicly declared his love for his estranged brother Brooklyn after being asked if the aspiring chef would attend their father David Beckham's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.
Family Feud Continues
Since the Beckham family feud was brought to light and confirmed by Brooklyn in a six-page Instagram statement in January, many have grown accustomed to not seeing the aspiring chef at family gatherings. David Beckham's Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony last Friday was no different. However, it appears that his younger brother Romeo, 23, still held out hope that Brooklyn would attend the prestigious event alongside their mother Victoria, sister Harper, and brother Cruz.
When stopped on the street and asked by a videographer if Brooklyn would be attending, Romeo heartbreakingly replied, "We love him. We love him."
Previous Hints of Reconciliation
The family has been locked in a battle with Brooklyn since last year, with no signs of reconciliation despite efforts by both David and Victoria. In March, Cruz also seemed to hold out hope that his estranged brother would voluntarily return to the family. When asked if he had well wishes for Brooklyn's birthday, he replied, "Happy birthday." When probed further about the possibility of reconciliation, the musician added, "I hope to."
Brooklyn's Absence at Family Events
Brooklyn has not been in contact with his family for months, but it appears the one person he has maintained contact with is his sister Harper. The 14-year-old daughter of David and Victoria was seen arriving at his house after attending her father's ceremony. Brooklyn has a history of no-shows at family events, including his father's 50th birthday celebrations in May of the previous year, since speculation of a fractured family dynamic began in 2022.
Both Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz renewed their vows in August. While Nicola's family attended the romantic ceremony, none of Brooklyn's family were invited. He also did not attend the family gathering over Christmas. The following month, Brooklyn posted a statement claiming he had no desire for reconciliation, saying, "I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed."
He continued, "I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled; I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events, and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into. Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths they'll go to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out."
A family friend said, "Understandably, David and Victoria are distraught and wish they could have resolved this privately. Brooklyn has opened up a whole Pandora's box. This has only just begun. For now, they intend to maintain a dignified silence on any specifics, but it's heartbreaking for everyone involved."
