Newcastle United lifted the Trofeu Taronja in Matthias Jaissle's first match in charge, with two goals from Yoane Wissa securing a comeback victory on a scorching night at the Mestalla.
Early Setback and Response
Jaissle made two notable changes, handing Miodrag Pivaš a start at left-back and giving Malick Thiaw the captaincy. The team lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation but fell behind after just four minutes when Filip Ugrinic's 25-yard strike flew into the top corner, beating debutant Lukáš Horníček.
The response was immediate as Anthony Elanga had a goal disallowed for offside, and William Osula also went close. However, the first half ended with a fracas after José Gayà's heavy challenge on Elanga, which sparked a 20-man melee and required Jaissle's intervention to calm things down.

Wissa made an immediate impact, capitalizing on a defensive error to slot home and level the score.
