Rod Stewart attended the Celtic vs Rangers match at Celtic Park on Wednesday evening, cheering on his beloved Hoops as they secured a 3-0 victory. The 77-year-old rocker was accompanied by his sons Alastair, Aiden, and Liam, enjoying the Glasgow Derby from the stands.
Stewart, known for his passionate support of Celtic, wore his signature red tartan suit. His son Alastair shared footage on Instagram of the family singing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' and celebrating goals. Liam, Stewart's son from his marriage to Rachel Hunter, was also seen smiling as the crowd erupted.
The family travelled to Glasgow via private jet, with Liam posting a video of the brothers playfully throwing sweets into Aiden's mouth onboard. The match was the second derby this season without travelling fans, following a dispute between the clubs over away allocations.
Speaking to TalkSport, Stewart criticised the decision to ban away supporters, calling it 'childish' and urging the clubs to restore the traditional atmosphere. 'It really ruins the atmosphere. We must get back to normal,' he said, adding that someone needs to take the lead in bringing back fans.
