Robbie Williams has left a lasting, rather unsettling, legacy on his former estate after abandoning a giant robot-style statue to watch over disturbed passers-by. The Take That singer, 52, has already proven he’s not a conventional guy, whether transforming into an ape for his musical biopic, wishing he was gay or grappling with scurvy. Now he’s accidentally terrorising the people of Wiltshire with a 60-foot statue, known as Om, which was first debuted on stage in 2011 during the Progress Live tour.

Since then, it’s found itself shacked up in Robbie’s old garden – he sold the home in 2022 – while he reportedly lives out his tropical paradise dreams in The Bahamas, miles away from any foreboding faceless figures lurking in the weeds. When he’s not lounging on the sunny shores of the Caribbean, he can be found in West London or even Switzerland, living an international lifestyle.
Still, that’s not much consolation for the locals from his previous haunt, with one nearby resident, Kristina Spiro Bowen, calling it a ‘creepy fella’ in the local Facebook group known as ‘Calne in Photographs’.

Liz Neve agreed: ‘I wondered what that was! I was concerned that the locals might be building up to a reenactment of the Wicker Man’.
‘I saw it only yesterday! Spooky,’ Jane Collett agreed at the time. So there we have it: if you drive through the local area, you’ll see its metal head poking out among the bushes. It is unclear if Robbie ever plans to rescue the mammoth sculpture from its foliage prison or if it’s simply a part of the landscape now.

Regardless, we doubt it’s been occupying many of the music artists’ thoughts. In fact, he’s been fighting his own fires when it comes to the World Cup, which ended late last month. During one interview, an unidentified white object fell from his mouth while chatting, launching a thousand memes. Robbie was quick to clarify it was simply a Nicorette mint, although this then led to the entire saga being labelled ‘MintGate’ because why not?
On a social media post, the Angels singer reflected: ‘I think I reached peak me at the World Cup,’ he wrote. ‘To have a Nicorette fall out of my mouth during a live interview… and then stick to my forehead… is the most me thing I’ve ever done.’ The viral moment quickly reached millions of people, unbeknownst to Robbie until the next day. He gracefully took it all on the chin, however, concluding: ‘It wouldn’t feel right if I appeared on the world stage and absolutely nothing weird happened.’
