Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have received a rare boost as their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, made a public appearance at the Sandringham Horse Driving Trials on Sunday, his first since being arrested in February. The 66-year-old Duke of York has faced ongoing scrutiny over his ties to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a scandal that has impacted his daughters' reputations behind closed doors.
Financial Security Unaffected
Despite the damage to the York name, royal finance expert Norman Baker told the Daily Mail that concerns over Beatrice and Eugenie's finances are unwarranted. "Anyone worried that the York daughters may end up short of cash, given the shenanigans of their parents, need not worry," Baker said. Both princesses have married wealthy partners and built successful careers, ensuring their bank balances remain robust.
Beatrice, 37, married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020, who serves as CEO of his own property development company. Eugenie, 36, wed Jack Brooksbank in 2018, a property developer. Additionally, both benefit from trust funds established by the late Queen Mother and the late Queen Elizabeth II. Baker noted these funds "were designed to ensure the absolute minimum would have to be paid in tax. Their father also set up a trust fund for them."
Full-Time Careers and Growing Families
Eugenie, currently expecting her third child, works full-time as a Director at the prestigious Mayfair art gallery Hauser & Wirth in London. Beatrice, a mother of two daughters and stepmother to nine-year-old Wolfie, was appointed director at Purpose Economy Intelligence in 2025, a business and software company. She previously worked at data analytics firm Afiniti from 2016.
Andrew's appearance at the Sandringham Horse Driving Trials saw him keeping a low profile, reportedly there to support his sister-in-law competing in an event, according to The Sun. The outing marked a rare public sighting since his February arrest, offering a subtle boost to his daughters amid their parents' scandals.
