Prince William 'Irritated' by Charles' Harry U-Turn, Refuses Calls

Prince William is allegedly “deeply irritated” by King Charles’s U-turn regarding Prince Harry’s return to the UK and “won’t take” his estranged brother’s calls, sources have claimed. The Duke of Sussex is preparing for a highly anticipated return to Britain next month alongside his entire family for the first time in four years.

Royal Rift Deepens Over Harry's Visit

Harry and Meghan last brought their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the UK in the summer of 2022 for the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The Duke has reportedly been offered accommodation at a royal residence by his father, King Charles, who is eager to meet his American grandchildren, though it remains unconfirmed whether the Sussexes have accepted.

Harry’s upcoming visit has sparked speculation about a possible meeting with his father, following a brief encounter last year during another trip. This could potentially pave the way for reconciliation. However, one royal is adamant about avoiding any meeting: the Prince of Wales.

William 'Miles Away' During Harry's Visit

Sources told Vanity Fair that the future King will ensure he is “miles away” when his estranged brother returns. They stated: “William won’t be seeing his brother. I suspect he will make sure he’s miles away when Harry visits to avoid any awkward encounters. Harry has tried to make contact repeatedly, but William won’t take his calls.”

The source added: “He is not minded to a reconciliation at all, and the fact that his father is bending over backwards to make Harry’s visit happen has become the source of deep irritation for William.”

Grudge vs. Forgiveness

The outlet cited “well-placed” sources who claimed that William believes Harry crossed a line with his allegations during the 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview and in his memoir Spare, which detailed his time within the royal family. While palace aides have previously dismissed any friction between the King and the heir regarding the approach to Harry, sources close to William claimed he thinks his father is making a “mistake” by easing up to the duke.

They said: “William is known to hold a grudge, whereas Charles just wants peace. They come to the Harry situation from different perspectives. Charles believes that one must forgive and move on. William won’t do that. Not yet and maybe never.”
