Prince Harry Reveals School Bullying Over Ginger Hair Colour
Prince Harry Bullied at School Over Ginger Hair

Prince Harry has revealed that he was bullied at school because of his ginger hair, recalling how classmates nicknamed him 'carrot top'. The Duke of Sussex, 41, made the disclosure during an appearance on The Joe Marler Will See You Now podcast, where he discussed common misconceptions about himself.

When asked about the biggest misconception people have, Harry replied: 'That I'm not ginger.' Former England rugby international Joe Marler expressed surprise, prompting Harry to joke: 'People think I'm ginger, but I'm more sort of like, um, sunset auburn.'

Recalling School Taunts

Harry went on to describe the teasing he endured at school, saying: 'Unless you want to call me ginge. You know? I got bullied a lot at school, called carrot top.' Marler remarked that it was 'not funny', to which Harry quipped: 'I'm going to need therapy after this.'

Harry attended Wetherby School in London, then Ludgrove School in Berkshire, and finally Eton College. His education at Eton broke with royal tradition, as earlier generations had attended Gordonstoun in Scotland. His elder brother, Prince William, also studied at Eton.

Podcast Revelations and Family Reunion

Later in the podcast, Harry was asked whether he would swap lives for a day with Harry Styles, Harry Kane, or Harry Potter. He chose England captain Harry Kane, but 'only on a winning day', adding: 'You don't want to be Kane on a losing day, do you?' He predicted England would win the World Cup.

The Duke also spoke about maintaining his mental health, emphasizing the importance of physical activity: 'Going to the gym is an absolute... any form of exercise is great, especially when you're depressed.' When asked about his profession, he replied: 'Full-time dad, British Army veteran, Prince of England, Duke.'

The podcast was recorded during Harry's recent trip to the UK ahead of next year's Invictus Games. During the visit, Harry, his wife Meghan, and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet reunited with King Charles III and Queen Camilla for the first time in four years at Highgrove estate in Gloucestershire. This was the King's first confirmed meeting with Archie and Lilibet since the Platinum Jubilee in 2022. No further details about the reunion have been disclosed.
