Prince and Princess of Wales Mark Armed Forces Day

The Prince and Princess of Wales have paid tribute to the nation's servicemen and women in recognition of Armed Forces Day. A video shared on their official Instagram account captured moments from a visit to RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire two weeks prior, where Kate, the Princess of Wales, was accompanied by her eldest son, Prince George.

Royal Visit to RAF Coningsby

During the visit, the royal family members met with pilots and engineers at the military airbase. The footage showed them examining aircraft belonging to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, including an Avro Lancaster heavy bomber, a Supermarine Spitfire, and a Hawker Hurricane. These planes are typically used for aerial displays.

The Princess of Wales, who has held the position of Royal Honorary Air Commodore of RAF Coningsby since August 2023, was seen engaging in conversation with RAF personnel. The post on the Waleses' social media account read: “Honouring Service and Sacrifice. Learning about the extraordinary history of these aircraft and meeting the pilots and engineers who keep their legacy alive. A powerful reminder of the courage, skill and dedication of those who serve, past and present. Thank you to all those who have served and continue to serve.”
