Singer Vanessa Blanca, who rose to fame as part of the group Sugarpop and later as a solo artist with her hit Dota o Ako, has died at the age of 30. She passed away on Wednesday, 19 August 2026, following an accident at a condominium in Manila.

Details of the Accident

Her cousin Ivy Ann Salaum Jubelag broke the news in a Facebook post, identifying the artist as Vanessa Blanca Quillo Rangadhol. The post stated that Blanca died after an accident at the condominium where she was staying.

In a separate statement, it was explained that the performer tripped and fell while getting changed in the bathroom, hitting her head. The statement noted that she sustained a severe traumatic brain injury resulting in an internal brain hemorrhage following the accidental fall.

Emergency Response

Emergency services were summoned but failed to arrive within 15 minutes, according to reports. Her companions then rushed her to the hospital in a wheelchair. Despite medical efforts, she could not be saved.

Jubelag's Facebook post requested privacy for the family: “At this painful time, we humbly ask everyone to please give her immediate family, especially her mother and loved ones, the time, space, and privacy they need to mourn and grieve.”
