The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are travelling to the UK next month for their first joint visit to Britain since 2022. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be accompanied by their two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, who have not been to the UK since the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee in June 2022.
King Charles Could Reunite with Youngest Grandchildren
King Charles could reportedly reunite with his two youngest grandchildren during the visit. The last time Lilibet was in the UK, the King met her for the first time. The visit also coincided with Lilibet's first birthday, with a party reportedly held at the Sussexes' former UK base, Frogmore Cottage.
The 'Ultimate Money Shot'
Speculation is growing over whether the public will finally see a photograph of the King with Archie and Lilibet. Writing in The Times, royal expert Kate Mansey described such an image as the "ultimate money shot." She wrote: "Picture the scene: the King smiles for the camera as he sits on a sofa by two beautiful children. At first glance, the little ones are not immediately recognisable. Then, on closer inspection, the family resemblance becomes apparent, the red hair from their father, the Duke of Sussex, revealing that they are Charles’s grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet."
Viral Potential and Royal Saga
Mansey added: "It’s an image that would surely go viral, pinging on smartphones around the world. For the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, it would be the ultimate money shot. The next twist in the saga that has launched them onto streaming platforms in the US, where their currency remains forever linked to their royal titles."
Previous Photo Requests Denied
In 2022, the Sussexes were reportedly keen for the late Queen to appear in a photograph with Archie and Lilibet. This request was denied due to risks that the photos would be made public.
