Phoebe Bridgers has postponed all her UK gigs after being hospitalised with appendicitis. The Grammy-winning artist was due to play a series of intimate concerts across the UK this month in celebration of her third album, Lost Weekend.
Hospitalisation Announcement
The singer, known for the hit "Kyoto," had performed at London's Union Chapel on Monday, August 17. She was scheduled to play matinee and evening shows in London, Bristol, Brighton, and Kingston. However, she took to Instagram to share the news from her hospital bed, with a visible drip in her arm.
"I got appendicitis for my birthday," she wrote. "Everything in the UK this week will have to move but I'll make it up to you!!!!" She appeared unwell in a hoodie in the photo.
Rescheduling and Future Shows
All the small gigs were sold out, with tickets sold alongside purchases of CDs and vinyl records. It is currently unclear when the shows will be rescheduled. Banquet Records, which organised the London event, said they are working closely with Phoebe's global teams and will provide an update as soon as possible.
Bridgers, a member of the band Boygenius, recently announced a two-night stint at The O2 on December 1 and 2. These shows will be phone-free, with digital devices, including smartwatches, placed in secure pouches until the concert ends. Fans caught recording will be escorted out, according to The O2. Tickets are on sale via Ticketmaster and AXS and are selling fast.
Recent Appearances
Days before falling ill, Bridgers was spotted at a star-studded wedding outside Bath. She was pictured celebrating the nuptials of mixing engineer Oli Jacobs and audio engineer Laura Sisk alongside Sabrina Carpenter, Jack Antonoff, and The 1975's George Daniel.
