Peter Andre has revealed he gave his children Princess and Junior a "dark" warning about the entertainment industry, and admitted his son's response "broke his heart". The brother and sister duo are currently appearing on the BBC reality show Celebrity Race Across the World.
The show sees four pairs travel from Kuching in Malaysia to Melbourne, Australia, on a budget of £840 per person, with no flights allowed. Princess, 19, and Junior, 21, have both chosen to follow their famous parents, singer Peter and former glamour model Katie Price, into the entertainment industry.
'Do you really want to do this?'
Speaking on his podcast The Andres, which he hosts with wife Emily, the couple were discussing their nine-year-old son Theo. Emily said Theo "loves performing", but Peter said he does not want his son to enter showbusiness.
He explained: "The last couple of years, I've set Junior and Princess down separately. And I've said: 'Kids, do you really want to do this?' You've heard me say that. You've got to be thick-skinned. I want you to go through some of the highs that you experience, but the highs can be so high, and the lows can be very low. Unless you're really built for it. I'm not as thick-skinned as I'd like to be. You learn. I don't know if I'd wish that upon them."
Junior's heartbreaking response
Peter, 53, then described his son's reaction to the discussion. He revealed: "Junior said to me. It broke my heart a little bit. 'Are you saying that because you don't believe in my talent, or you don't believe I'm good enough.' I said: 'Mate, it's the opposite. I know your talent, I know how amazing you are. That's not the point, that makes it even more scary. Do you want to do this or are you doing it because you feel you should, or because people around you are encouraging you.' He said: 'It's kind of a bit late, I've done it all my life.' I said: 'It's never too late.'"
Princess's own series
Princess has already starred in her own reality TV series, The Princess Diaries, which aired on ITV2 in August 2025. The show featured the teenager navigating her career and family life, and also starred her parents and siblings. It showed her trying to build a career as an influencer and model. Two further four-episode series aired in 2026, with The Princess Diaries receiving mixed reviews.
