Paul Flack's friends have expressed their devastation following his death at the age of 55. The graphic designer, brother of Caroline Flack, died on June 21, just days after his 55th birthday.
He was found unconscious at his home last month and was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An inquest has been opened at Norfolk Coroner's Court and is scheduled for October 23.
His death comes six years after his sister's suicide at the age of 40. The organisers of Flackstock, a festival founded in memory of the Love Island presenter, have offered their condolences.
Flackstock Organisers Share Heartbreak
"We are beyond heartbroken by Paul Flack's passing," a message on Instagram read. "We loved Paul so deeply, and this news has shattered us all. Paul was funny, kind and loving. He gave the best hugs and had the most brilliant laugh. We will miss him so much."
Flackstock is a festival that aims to give people hope, remember those lost, and offer support to anyone struggling. "This news is hard to hear and hard to share," the statement continued. "Right now, our focus is supporting the Flack family however we can, so please bear with us while we grieve someone we loved so very, very much."
The message added: "If you are struggling, you are not alone. The Samaritans are there for you 24/7 on 116 123. Please take care of each other, and be kind."
Celebrities Pay Respects
Celebrities including Olly Murs and Laura Whitmore shared heartbroken emojis in response. Dawn O'Porter wrote, "These messages are so lovely. We love you all so much. Thank you." Lizzie Cundy commented, "Heartbreaking...so very sorry." Zara Holland, who appeared on Love Island season two in 2015 and knew Caroline, added, "So sorry for your loss."
Flackstock has been held annually since 2022, focusing on mental health awareness following Caroline's death in February 2020. The late Strictly Come Dancing champion had a close relationship with her brother.
Paul's Final Instagram Post
Paul's last Instagram post was dedicated to Caroline's memory. Alongside a childhood photo of her from August 2020, he wrote: "This will be my last post here. May those who know feel shame for eternity. Love you Caroline x."
Paul's body was discovered at his home in Norwich on June 21, several days before the announcement this week. Police attended the scene and are treating his death as "unexplained."
Norfolk Police said in a statement: "Officers were called by ambulance after concerns for the safety of a man in his 50s. He was taken by ambulance to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital but was sadly pronounced dead at 10.44pm. The death is being treated as unexplained at this time but police do not currently believe there are any suspicious circumstances."
