Violent scenes marred Oasis' final homecoming gig at Manchester's Heaton Park on Sunday, as ticketless fans clashed on a hill overlooking the concert. Witnesses reported chairs, toilet rolls, and bottles being thrown during the disturbances, which lasted around half an hour.
The trouble occurred on 'Gallagher Hill', a popular vantage point for fans without tickets. Tensions escalated between groups, with football chants and physical confrontations. Blue flares were also ignited, adding to the chaotic atmosphere.
One witness described the scene: 'Football fans were chanting, camping chairs were thrown. Then a scrap. Then bottles. One lad got punched in the face.' Another said: 'It was pretty scary. Too many people to intervene.'
The incident came as Oasis wrapped up a five-date stint at Heaton Park, performing to nearly 80,000 fans each night. The band's final Manchester show was billed as a homecoming of epic proportions.
