Nick Jonas on Teenage Fame: 'I Never Really Thought It Was Real'

Nick Jonas has opened up about his experience of fame as a young teenager, admitting he never fully believed it was real. Speaking on Lorraine, the singer reflected on the surreal nature of being in the spotlight at such a young age.

“People actually caring you are dating at 14 is not a normal thing,” Jonas said. “But my parents are really good people, and they did a good job of helping us keep our heads on straight.” He added that he saw his early fame as “make-believe”, focusing only on the music.

Jonas acknowledged the pressure to be “perfect” and expressed sympathy for young performers struggling with their identity. “I was thankful to have some time to figure that out and to still be here doing what I love,” he said.

The Jonas Brothers, formed in 2005, announced their split in 2013. The band released five albums, sold over eight million records worldwide, and were nominated for Best New Artist at the 2008 Grammy Awards. Their single ‘SOS’ reached number 13 on the UK Singles Chart.

Jonas recently released his debut solo album, Nick Jonas, and shared the video for his new single ‘Chains’. The clip was filmed in Miami, featuring the singer smoking a cigar and performing at the Wynwood Walls art gallery.
