Nathan Moore Hospitalised with Sciatic Nerve Issue, Tour in Jeopardy
Nathan Moore Hospitalised, Unable to Walk

Nathan Moore, the celebrated singer known for his work with pop groups Brother Beyond and Worlds Apart, has disclosed a severe health crisis that has left him temporarily unable to walk. The 61-year-old artist required urgent medical attention following a live performance in France, where he is currently embarked on a European tour with Worlds Apart.

Acute Nerve Condition Forces Hospital Stay

Moore has confirmed that he is suffering from an extreme sciatic nerve issue, which rendered him bedridden after waking up one morning completely incapable of walking. The distressing situation unfolded just three days before he was scheduled to return to the stage with his bandmates, placing the remainder of his tour in serious jeopardy.

'It’s a sciatic nerve issue, but it’s extreme,' Moore explained to the Daily Mail. 'I woke this morning unable to even walk. For someone so active on stage and in the middle of a European tour it’s killing me.'

From French Hospital to UK Recovery

The singer spent Saturday night in a hospital in Martigues, France, receiving treatment before being discharged. He has since returned to his home in the United Kingdom to continue his recovery process. Despite his normally positive and athletic disposition, Moore expressed feeling significantly aged by the injury.

'I’m normally a super positive and a very athletic 61 year old, but I feel like I’m 85,' he lamented. 'I’m home now but the tour is meant to continue on Thursday - 22 shows to go! I’m just so upset.'

Moore's Musical Legacy and Career Journey

Nathan Moore initially rose to fame in the late 1980s as a member of Brother Beyond. The band achieved considerable success following the release of their debut album, Get Even, in 1988, which peaked at number nine on the UK album charts.

Their breakthrough came after an unconventional move: the group bid for and won the assistance of the renowned music production trio Stock, Aitken and Waterman (SAW) at a charity auction. This collaboration propelled their subsequent singles up the charts, though the decision to later part ways with the producers, who wrote their biggest hit The Harder I Try, led to a decline in popularity. Brother Beyond quietly disbanded in 1991, after which Moore joined the band Worlds Apart.

Public Updates and Fan Support

Over the weekend, Moore took to Instagram to inform fans about his condition, posting: 'Please excuse me for dancing sitting on a chair in Martigues. Unfortunately after the show I spent the night in the hospital. I should be recovered for Montpellier, but I can’t dance. My apologies in advance. A big thank you to the entire medical team of Martigues, who were so kind.'

After his discharge, he added further context about his challenging journey home and ongoing struggles: 'My journey home was interesting. Thanks for all your understanding regarding my performances on stage, I’m really struggling and I’m not sure what I am going to do next week.'

Fans have flooded the comments sections with messages of support and well-wishes. One supporter wrote: 'Take care Nathan, if you can't dance... it's great to be able to see you and listen to you sing.' Another added: 'Hey Nathan, get some rest. We're thinking of you. Stay strong and hang in there.'

The future of Moore's European tour remains uncertain as he focuses on recuperation from this painful and debilitating nerve condition.
