The family of Joshua Oxley, a 22-year-old described as a 'gentle giant', have paid an emotional tribute following his death in an e-bike crash in Bradford.
Fatal Collision on Great Horton Road
Joshua Oxley was riding an e-bike when it collided with a moped on Great Horton Road, Bradford, on Friday, June 19. He was taken to hospital but died from his injuries.
Two men, aged 22 and 27, have been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. They have been bailed pending further inquiries, according to Yorkshire Live.
Family's Heartfelt Tribute
In a statement, Joshua's family said: "Our Joshy was the kindest person you could ever meet, he had a heart of gold and cared for others more than himself. Even through the tough years we have faced together as a family, Joshy has never failed to have a smile on his face and always cheer up others. Forever 22 our gentle giant, we love you, and you will always be missed."
The family added: "As a family, we are heartbroken. We appreciate, and have taken comfort in the kind words and condolences offered. However, we ask people not to speculate online surrounding the circumstances of Josh's death and ask for privacy at this extremely difficult time."
Appeal for Witnesses
West Yorkshire Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward. Witnesses can contact police on 101, quoting reference number 13260347754.
The family has launched a crowdfunding page to help cover funeral costs, which has raised funds from well-wishers.
