Social media influencer Nara Smith has announced that her two-year-old daughter Whimsy is in remission after a battle with cancer. The 24-year-old "trad-wife" star, known for narrating her daily life in a low voice while preparing elaborate meals in designer clothing, shared the news on Instagram.
Diagnosis and Treatment Journey
Smith revealed that Whimsy was diagnosed with cancer last year and underwent chemotherapy. In a video posted to Instagram, the mother of four explained the family's decision to wait until treatment concluded before making the news public. "We wanted to wait until she was done with treatment and us knowing what the outcome of her situation would be before sharing it, and even finding the words to share it," Smith said.
She added, "Now that she’s finally in remission, it felt like I could find the words to share. The whole point of me sharing our experience was to shed light on what so many families go through and battle privately."
Financial and Emotional Impact
Smith emphasized the high cost of medical care, stating, "Going through chemo treatments opened my eyes to how expensive medical care is, and what a toll it takes on families specifically." She and her husband, model Lucky Blue Smith, 28, are working to return to everyday life, taking things "day by day." Smith admitted, "I don’t know whether life will ever feel normal again, but we’re trying to navigate this next chapter the best that we can."
Support and Future Plans
The influencer thanked followers for their "kind messages, prayers, and support" and expressed solidarity with families still fighting cancer. The couple, who have four children together—including their youngest, Fawnie Golden, born in October last year—are exploring charities and foundations to support.
