Nadia Sawalha has dropped a cryptic hint about her future on Loose Women, telling Bella Magazine: "Let me just say this, we'll have an answer on that very soon!" The 61-year-old has not appeared on the ITV panel since April 2026, sparking speculation about her absence.
ITV Denies Suspension Claims
Following rumours that Sawalha had been suspended, ITV issued a statement refuting the claims. The presenter herself addressed the allegations on Instagram, saying: "Thank you all so much for all your lovely messages but listen, don't worry guys, there's loads of lies going around at the moment. One of which is that I have been suspended from Loose Women. I have not been suspended from Loose Women."
Show Changes and Job Losses
Sawalha has expressed concerns about major changes to the programme. Since January, Loose Women has been reduced to 30 weeks per year and no longer features a live studio audience. Speaking to Woman's Weekly Magazine, she said: "I'm just really upset about my friends and colleagues - the crew - that were made redundant. I am worried, because we're all worried all the time in this world that we live in. Everything is so precarious."
She also commented on the loss of the audience: "We're all going to miss the audience terribly, but how it will affect the dynamic of the show, who knows? The audience has always been the fifth Loose Women, it's going to be very strange, it's sad, but it's the sign of the times."
Independent Projects During Absence
During her time away from the show, Sawalha and her husband Mark Adderley have continued engaging with fans through their YouTube channel, which has 157,000 subscribers. They also launched a programme called Mrs and Mister: Lunchtime Laugh alongside their podcast Coffee Moaning. Sawalha said: "I'm in the driving seat. I'm in charge and this is the way it's always going to be." She added: "We've been talking for a long while about doing this. This is lifestyle stuff, silly stuff. And there will be one serious topic [a day]."
A Long-Standing Panelist
Sawalha has been part of Loose Women for approximately 16 years. She first appeared in 1999 and remained until 2002, before returning in 2013. Her absence has left fans wondering if she will return to the panel, but her recent comment suggests an announcement is imminent.
