Shanna Moakler Reignites Feud with Kourtney Kardashian Over Co-Parenting
Shanna Moakler, the former wife of Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, has publicly criticised Kourtney Kardashian, alleging that the reality television star has crossed significant boundaries in their shared co-parenting arrangement. The comments were made during a recent appearance on the When Reality Hits podcast, hosted by The Valley star Brittany Cartwright.
Podcast Allegations and Past Tensions
During the podcast episode released on Friday, Cartwright directly questioned Moakler about her experiences co-parenting with her children's stepmother, Kardashian. The former Miss USA winner, aged 50, responded with pointed remarks that have reignited their long-standing feud. "I don't think those women have those conversations with anybody," Moakler stated, referring to the Kardashian-Jenner family in her discussion with the Vanderpump Rules alum.
Moakler elaborated on her feelings, admitting, "At one point in time, I felt it wasn't respectful. At certain times, I felt, 'Wow, if I had your kids, I wouldn't be doing some of the things you're doing with my kids.'" She further claimed that Kardashian had crossed specific lines in their co-parenting relationship, though she did not provide explicit details about what those boundaries were.
Historical Context and Family Dynamics
This latest controversy follows Moakler's previous assertion in 2024 that she had "never met" Kardashian, despite the Poosh founder having been in a relationship with Barker for three years at that point. Barker and Kardashian married in 2022 and share a two-year-old son named Rocky Thirteen. Meanwhile, Barker was married to Moakler from 2004 to 2008, and they have two children together: son Landon, 22, and daughter Alabama, 20.
Barker also serves as the primary father figure to Moakler's 26-year-old daughter, Atiana De La Hoya, whom she shares with boxer Oscar De La Hoya. Kardashian, for her part, has three children from her previous relationship with Scott Disick: Mason, 16, Penelope, 13, and Reign, 11.
Moakler's Perspective and Moving Forward
Moakler expressed her perspective on the situation, stating, "I feel like there were some lines that were crossed." She added that if she were ever responsible for Kardashian's children, she would ensure certain boundaries were maintained. However, she concluded on a note of resolution, saying, "It is what it is. It's happened. And I feel like we've all moved forward from it now."
In a previous interview with People magazine in June 2024, Moakler addressed perceptions of her relationship with Barker and Kardashian, denying any anger but acknowledging frustration. "I think I get maybe frustrated, but I'm also from the East Coast and I swear a lot and I can be very direct sometimes," she explained. She also defended her involvement in her children's lives, countering accusations that she is not present.
Clarifying Custody Arrangements
Moakler clarified the living arrangements for her children, noting that during the COVID-19 pandemic, she believed it was better for them to stay at Barker's "mega-mansion" during lockdowns. "That was the only time that I wasn't as present, but I've always been present in my children's lives," she insisted. She emphasised her ongoing active role, stating, "I'm there for my children every day."
Currently, Moakler is dating Days of Our Lives star Greg Vaughan, having begun their relationship in 2023. Despite the public criticisms, she maintains that the family has progressed beyond the past tensions, though her recent podcast comments suggest underlying issues may still linger in their co-parenting dynamic.
