Stranger Things stars Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour are set to reunite on screen as a father-daughter duo in a new spy drama from A24, produced by Netflix. The series, written by Jack Thorne—the screenwriter behind the acclaimed series Adolescence—will follow Matt Wolfe (Harbour), a disgraced FBI agent turned security expert, who is pulled back into the espionage world after his estranged daughter, FBI agent Rebecca (Brown), goes missing on a mission.
Executive Producers and Creative Team
According to Netflix's Tudum, Thorne, Harbour, and Brown will serve as executive producers on the untitled series, alongside Brown’s husband, Jake Bongiovi, and her father, Robert Brown. This marks a reunion for the Stranger Stars, who played adoptive father Jim Hopper and psychic Eleven in the Netflix sci-fi hit, which concluded earlier this year with its fifth and final season.
Netflix's Enthusiasm for the Project
Jinny Howe, head of scripted series at Netflix US and Canada, expressed excitement about the project: “We are delighted to bring this spy drama to life with an extraordinary group of talent we’ve been fortunate to collaborate with before. Jack Thorne’s ability to find the deeply human story inside a thriller is unmatched, and watching Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour reunite, this time as estranged father and daughter on opposite sides of a crisis, is something audiences are going to love.”
Background on the Creators and Cast
Thorne’s recent work on Adolescence earned widespread praise and awards. Brown and Harbour rose to fame through Stranger Things, created by Matt and Ross Duffer, which also starred Winona Ryder, Sadie Sink, Joe Keery, and Finn Wolfhard. The new series remains untitled but is expected to draw significant attention given the talent involved.
