Miley Cyrus Sparks Engagement Rumours with Massive Diamond Ring at Avatar Premiere
Miley Cyrus engagement rumours after Avatar premiere

Miley Cyrus has set tongues wagging with speculation she may be engaged to her boyfriend, musician Maxx Morando, after stepping out at a major Hollywood premiere wearing a significant diamond ring.

A Sparkling Red Carpet Moment

The Grammy Award-winning singer, 33, attended the Avatar: Fire and Ash premiere in Los Angeles on Monday night with Morando, 27. All eyes were on the couple as they posed together on the red carpet at the iconic Dolby Theatre. However, it was the jewellery on Cyrus's left hand that truly captured attention.

Eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed the Hannah Montana alum was sporting a massive diamond ring set on a gold band on her left ring finger. This is the same finger where an engagement or wedding band is traditionally worn.

The Ring's Public Debut

This wasn't the first appearance of the eye-catching sparkler. Cyrus initially debuted the ring in photographs shared to her Instagram on November 23, in celebration of her 33rd birthday. Just days later, she ensured it received maximum exposure during the high-profile Avatar premiere photo call.

For the event, Cyrus paired the ring with another diamond piece on her left index finger, while her right hand was also adorned with several rings. The jewellery coordinated perfectly with a diamond choker necklace.

Old Hollywood Glamour on Display

The singer commanded attention in a stunning, ultra-glamorous black gown. The dress featured a strapless sequin bodice and a dramatic, billowing ruffled skirt with a train, channelling an Old Hollywood aesthetic.

The look confidently displayed much of Cyrus's extensive collection of over 50 tattoos. Her hair was styled in messy, voluminous waves swept to one side, and her makeup emphasised her blue eyes with smudged brown and black shadow.

Cyrus has been in a relationship with Morando, a professional drummer, since late 2021. Their romance began following her divorce from actor Liam Hemsworth, with whom she had an on-and-off relationship for over a decade before marrying in December 2018. The marriage lasted just 13 months, with their divorce finalised in January 2020.

The singer has previously joked about being a 'cougar' due to their six-year age gap, but has stated she views the difference positively. The couple, who confirmed their relationship in 2022, largely keep their private life out of the spotlight but have been seen together at several events this year, including the Oscars.

At the premiere, Morando looked thrilled to support Cyrus, who penned the ballad Dream as One for the James Cameron-directed film, set for release on December 19.

While fans are eagerly interpreting the ring's meaning, neither Cyrus nor Morando have publicly commented on the engagement rumours. The speculation adds a new chapter to the singer's much-discussed personal life, which she has often channelled into her music, most notably in her Grammy-winning 2023 hit Flowers, believed to be about the breakdown of her marriage to Hemsworth.
