Mel B Reveals Why Spice Girls Reunion Isn't Happening

Mel B has revealed the real reason why the Spice Girls have not yet reunited, despite her strong desire to bring the iconic girl band back together. In an exclusive interview, the singer known as Scary Spice admitted that coordinating five busy women is proving to be a major obstacle.

30th Anniversary Plans

Speaking about the upcoming 30th anniversary of their debut single "Wannabe," Mel B said: "I am always keen for a reunion. It'll be 30 years this year that we are going to be celebrating the release of Wannabe. I think we owe it to our fans because they're still so loyal to us and still there supporting us 30 years later. I'm really proud of that and also really grateful. We will organise something at some point but we need to get our skates on."

The Challenge of Coordinating Five Women

When asked what is actually stopping the reunion, Mel explained: "Because there are five of us, when trying to get everything sorted, it's just like trying to get four or five of your girlfriends together. Somebody pulls out at the last minute, or something happens with the kids or whatnot. There's always something going on. But I'm hoping it does happen, so we will see."

O2 Scroll Stopper Campaign

Mel B has partnered with O2 to launch the O2 scroll stopper, a WhatsApp callback service designed to help people take a break from their phones. The service targets the 44% of Brits who want to better manage their screen time and the 37% who feel addicted to their devices. Users can schedule a call featuring a pre-recorded message from Scary Spice herself.

Speaking about the campaign, Mel shared: "We've all fallen into the trap of repeatedly checking our phones and staying on them without even thinking about what we are doing, but I'm helping the nation to put a big stop to that! I'm a massive advocate for taking a break from my phone and that's why I've partnered with O2 to give you that much-needed nudge to get away from a screen, to look up and get back to the good stuff happening right in front of you. And if I have to give you a bit of a telling-off to do it, well, that's why they call me Scary - but you know it's because I care."

People can try the O2 scroll stopper by sending a WhatsApp message to 078682 89802 or requesting a callback from Mel B. By participating, users agree that O2 can use their personal data to receive a call back at the time requested.
