Meghan Markle sparks fury over 'controlling' red carpet move

Meghan Markle has sparked outrage after a video showed her appearing to direct the hosts of a gala on the red carpet. The Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry attended the David Foster Foundation's 40th anniversary gala in Victoria, Canada, on Friday.

Red carpet moment

Before the event, which supports Canadian families with children needing life-saving organ transplants, Meghan and Harry posed for photos. They then posed with foundation founder David Foster and his wife Katharine McPhee.

In a video from the red carpet, Meghan, who turned 45 this week, appears to point and talk, with many believing she was telling Foster and McPhee where to stand.

Online reaction

The move has enraged fans online, who think Meghan was wrong to do this, especially to the event's hosts.

One person wrote on X: "This is the most entitled person's behaviour. She doesn’t know when to stop controlling."

Another said: "Why is she directing them at their own event?"

A third commented: "What is it with her and directing people on where to stand. I think it's rude she is doing it to the host of the event."

One person wrote: "Sorry, she is telling the host and his wife where to stand at their own event? Who the f**k does she think she is?"

Another added: "Placing herself in the CENTRE because she is the focus…"

Meghan Markle has been approached for comment.
