Darts prodigy Luke Littler has opened up about the possibility of swapping the oche for the jungle, revealing he would consider appearing on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! if the financial offer was compelling enough.
Jungle Dreams and Darts Dominance
The 18-year-old sensation, who shot to global fame after becoming the youngest ever World Darts Championship winner, made the comments following his successful performance at the Grand Slam of Darts. When questioned about potentially following his social media friend Morgan Burtwistle, known as Angry Ginge, into the jungle, Littler gave a telling response.
"Erm maybe...If they come around for the right price. I might go over for a couple weeks," Littler stated, suggesting that financial compensation would be the key factor in his decision.
Friendly Rivalry and Tournament Focus
Despite their close online friendship, Littler showed no mercy when discussing Burtwistle's upcoming jungle adventure. Speaking at a press conference after his victory against Daryl Gurney that secured his place in the knockout stages, the darts star playfully admitted he'd vote for his friend to face the show's notorious eating trials.
"I think he's going to do very well. I've known for a very long time. We'll have to vote him on and see what he has to eat," Littler added with apparent amusement.
While Littler won't be appearing in this year's series, which features celebrities including Spandau Ballet's Martin Kemp and former footballer Alex Scott, his focus remains firmly on defending his Grand Slam of Darts title. The young athlete comfortably topped his group by beating Karel Sedlacek, Connor Scutt, and Gurney, securing his spot in the round of 16.
Chasing the Number One Spot
Littler's attention now turns to his upcoming match against Dutch player Wessel Nijman on Thursday, where victory would see him progress to the quarter-finals. The tournament presents a significant opportunity for the rising star, who is closing in on world number one Luke Humphries in the rankings.
A tournament win in Wolverhampton this week would see Littler leapfrog his rival to claim the top spot, marking another remarkable achievement in his already spectacular career. For now, the jungle will have to wait as darts remains the priority for the talented teenager.
