Lucy Mecklenburgh has directly addressed rumours she is having an 'affair' with her fiancé Ryan Thomas' brother, Scott Thomas. The former TOWIE star, 34, faced the claims head on after rumours swirled she was getting close to Scott.
It came after Scott revealed how the pair are 'so alike' and that they often chat on the phone. Just a month before, Ryan and Lucy revealed they are now sleeping in separate bedrooms. However, the couple and Scott have shut down the speculation and even added a touch of their classic humour.
The trio came together for a sketch where Lucy could be seen giving Scott a hug in the hallway of her home. A large black coat could be seen hanging off a door behind them as Lucy asked Scott if he had been working out. The Love Islander revealed he'd been to the gym 'a couple times a week'. However, former Coronation Street star Ryan suddenly appeared as his legs dropped down out of the coat. He gave Scott a telling stare, who quipped: 'I'll be going then.'
They captioned the cheeky video: 'When your brother starts getting suspicious of all the rumours...' Scott and Adam also addressed the claims while on their podcast, At Home With The Thomas Bros. Scott said: 'The fact that we were so open with each other I would have thought it was a clear sign that it's not anything untoward.' Ryan jokingly replied: 'I'll be honest I was a bit uncomfortable with it.' He then added: 'I actually don't care and don't see any of this, I love how close we are as a family, but get a bird mate!'
Just last month, Lucy candidly opened up on changes in her relationship with Ryan as she revealed they are sleeping separately after eight years together. 'Basically we sleep in separate bedrooms because Ryan is a nightmare sleeper,' she revealed. 'Ryan snores, he sleep talks, he whacks me in his sleep.' She went on to explain: 'It's just to get a good night's sleep. And that's just become normal now.'
Lucy, who has two children with Ryan – Roman, five, and Lilah, three – said she often cuddles up with their son to get a decent night's kip. However, couples' counsellor Caron Barruw said this habit could harm Lucy and Ryan's relationship. 'From what I've seen after 28 years of specialising in couples, sleeping apart often leads to a divide. I've never seen it strengthen a relationship and I'd say it should be done with huge caution,' she warned. But a source told the Mirror last month that Lucy and Ryan aren't worried what others think of their nighttime ritual. 'They do what works for them – they don't really care what anyone else thinks,' the source said.
