Love Island Danica Taylor Launches Dirty Pop Music Career

Former Love Island star Danica Taylor has announced a surprising career shift, moving from reality television into the music industry with what she calls her 'dirty pop' era. The 2022 villa contestant revealed her new musical direction exclusively to the Daily Star at SHEIN's VIP Ibiza event.

New Musical Direction

Danica described her upcoming sound as 'dirty pop,' drawing inspiration from iconic female artists. 'It's dirty pop. I'm thinking Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears, very ego pop. We need more diva-ish music and I'm bringing it back,' she said. The star emphasized that her performances will feature full choreography, promising a high-energy show.

Rediscovering Herself

Danica admitted she deliberately stepped back from the spotlight for two years to rediscover her identity and sound. 'It took me two years to take a step back and think, 'Who is Danica?' and 'What is my sound?' Because, believe it or not, you do lose yourself in the limelight,' she explained. She added that her goal is to help fans feel confident: 'It's not about being arrogant. It's about knowing who you are and being the best version of you. And if I can make any of my girlypops think, 'I'm that girl,' then brilliant.'

Born Entertainer

Despite her reality TV fame, Danica insists performing has always been her true passion. 'I'm just a born entertainer. I just love the stage. I love making people laugh, dancing, singing – it's just in me,' she said. While she hasn't ruled out future TV appearances, she believes now is the perfect time to focus on building a career on her own terms. 'TV is still in that world, but I always knew there might be an opportunity to go and do my own thing, and now I'm living the dream.'

Upcoming Single

The new chapter begins with the release of 'CERTIFIED FREAK,' the first single from her 'DIRTY POP' era, set to drop on June 29. Danica was also spotted at Parklife this weekend wearing SHEIN's SUMWON WOMEN Slinky Plunge Dress With Open Back, Glow in the Dark Bracelets, and a Studded Baseball Cap. After becoming a household name through reality television, she aims to carve out a place in the music industry with confidence, choreography, and unapologetic pop star energy.
