Lorraine Kelly has shared an admission about her sex life which she says will leave daughter Rosie Kelly Smith red-faced. The daytime television presenter, 66, has been married to cameraman Steve Smith since 1992, and the pair share daughter Rosie, 32, who has followed in her mother's footsteps as a journalist, author and podcaster.
'We're all so coy about sex'
Reflecting on her recent weight loss after cutting alcohol out of her diet, Lorraine shared that sex with Steve is as good as ever. 'Getting fitter hasn't changed my relationship with Steve,' she told The Sun. 'We're all so coy about sex and Rosie would be mortified if we talk about my sex life, but it's part of life.'
She added: 'And the healthier you are and the more energy you've got, then great. Why not? Go for it!'
Previous jokes and family life
Lorraine previously joked about her sex life during a 2025 episode of Loose Women, where she discussed breast cancer awareness. She said: 'Once a month, every two weeks, it's really up to you. It's about your normal though. Some women have got lumpy boobies.' She continued: 'It's whatever suits you. For me I do it once a month,' before joking, 'but my husband checks my boobies quite regularly.'
Lorraine and Steve met while working together in television in the 1980s and this year celebrated 34 years of marriage. In 2021, she credited him with her success, telling The Mirror: 'He picks up the slack and always has. I couldn't do what I do if it weren't for him. He makes me laugh an awful lot. He's very kind and a brilliant dad.'
Grandmother and daughter's appearances
In 2024, Lorraine became a grandmother when Rosie welcomed her first child. Responding to Rosie's pregnancy announcement on Instagram, Lorraine wrote: 'THE most exciting thing to have ever happened in our family! Cannot wait to be a granny and so proud of Rosie and her Steve. It's the best news EVER!'
Rosie, who married Steve White in 2026, has appeared on television with her mother, notably on Celebrity Gogglebox in 2021 and 2022. That same year, she appeared on Loose Women, where she shared her experience as Lorraine's daughter. 'Growing up you were always on the TV, so I never knew any different really. People I went to school with were lovely – everyone's always been so nice,' she told her mum. 'I think it's because you're embarrassing, but not an embarrassing mum in the sense that you… you have a lovely job, and you're very respectful and lovely.'
