Lingerie expert Katie Weir has said that Kylie Jenner's custom-made Victoria's Secret Fantasy Bra, valued at $50 million, does not fit properly. The bra, which took 15 craftspeople 1,000 hours to make, was worn by Jenner at the 2026 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, sparking immediate online debate.
Fit Issues and Expert Analysis
Weir, a bra fitter, pointed out specific problems with the bra's fit. "The bra is literally digging into her breast tissue at the side," she explained. "Considering she has revealed she has breast implants, I imagine that could be quite painful. Then, there was spillage at the front."
While Weir conceded that the 'fuller bust' look might have been intentional, she noted that the same effect can be achieved with a properly fitting bra. She also expressed concerns about the back band, stating, "Her angel wings and the part of her hair meant we couldn't see the back of the bra, but if we're going off where it sat on the other models, I am not optimistic."
Other Models and Sizing Concerns
Weir highlighted that a back band not meeting the straps at a 90-degree angle is a major red flag for bra fitters, citing model Abény Nhial's look as an example. She also mentioned Elsa Hosk's pink corset look, which appeared to pinch the skin under her bust.
Weir, who has earned the nickname 'tit witch' for her ability to assess a woman's size by sight, believes the models were likely wearing the wrong sizes, as 92% of women do. She attributes this partly to Victoria's Secret's sizing, which on their UK website ranges from 30A to 44DDD.
"Immediately, you have the problem that those models – many of whose backs will be smaller than 30 inches – are being put into bigger bands with smaller cups to compensate," she said. "If I had to guess, I would predict they put Ashley Graham in a 40DD, when actually she's more like a 34HH."
Personal Experience and Advice
Weir shared her own experience of receiving incorrect advice from Victoria's Secret. "Last year, I visited their shop in Miami and a shop assistant came up to me asking if I needed to know my size," she said. "I told her I was a lingerie expert and knew that I was a 30GG, to which she responded 'ma'am you'll actually be a 36DDD in Victoria's Secret'. I was gobsmacked. The confidence and conviction she said it with took me aback and I worried about young girls going in and being told completely the wrong information about their own size."
Weir offered tips for a proper bra fit, emphasizing that 80% of support should come from the back band. She recommends testing tension by pulling the band about an inch to an inch and a half, and ensuring cups encapsulate the breast from the side. She also advises the 'jiggle, scoop and swoop' technique, which involves fastening the bra, leaning forward, and bringing breast tissue into the cup.
While Weir praised the catwalk for being "wonderful, empowering and diverse," she wished more consideration was given to proper fitting. She noted exceptions like Megan Thee Stallion, who appeared to fit her outfit perfectly.
Weir's passion for proper lingerie fit stems from her own bad fitting experience at age 15, when she was told she was a 38DD. After finding her correct size during a university placement with Wacoal, she said, "My boobs looked unreal. They looked like the girls' in the magazine." She has extended an offer to Kylie Jenner for a virtual fitting, saying, "Kylie, if you would like one too, the door is open."
