Kylie Jenner reflected on the start of her reality television career during a new episode of the Therapuss podcast. The 28-year-old star, mother to daughter Stormi, 8, and son Aire, 4, revealed that her firstborn is 'almost' the age she was when she first appeared on Keeping Up with the Kardashians (KUWTK).
She told host Jake Shane about her current stage of motherhood: 'I'm in [the] "I have an 8-year-old" stage. She's eight years old. She's my age when we started Keeping Up with the Kardashians, almost.' KUWTK premiered on E! in October 2007 when Jenner was 10, but she noted she was nine when cameras began rolling.
The mom of two recalled being a young mother, stating: 'I remember when I had [Stormi], and I used to be like, "I'm gonna be 28 with an 8-year-old."' She shares Stormi and Aire with ex-boyfriend Travis Scott, 35.
Early Life and Family Reflections
In the interview, the billionaire makeup mogul said she has few memories of life before the family's reality show. Regarding the camera crew, she explained: 'They were just there one day in the house and everyone made it seem really normal, so it felt pretty natural, I will say.'
The show became a cultural phenomenon, airing for 14 seasons between 2007 and 2021. After it ended, the family began filming a docuseries called The Kardashians for Hulu. Jenner told Shane, 'The earlier seasons were the best and [I have] so many memories.' Her immediate family includes older sisters Kourtney Kardashian, 47, Kim Kardashian, 45, Khloe Kardashian, 41, Kendall Jenner, 30, and brother Rob Kardashian, 39.
She reflected on filming: 'I felt like it really kind of brought us all together. It still does today.'
Pregnancy Revelations
Elsewhere in the conversation, for which she wore a short-sleeved, black leather shirt and light wash jeans, Jenner revealed she 'freaked out' when she found out she was pregnant at age 19. She gave birth at age 20 in 2018 and admitted being terrified to tell her parents, Kris and Caitlyn Jenner, about the pregnancy.
'I was freaking out. I was really scared to tell my parents. I was really scared,' she emphasized. The Khy designer added: 'But there was something just inside of me that knew that I wanted to do this, and I had to make a decision for myself. And even if I have to do this alone, or however, this is the choice that I'm going to make.' When she finally told her parents, neither was 'mad.'
Jenner also spoke about her second pregnancy with son Aire, revealing she was placed on bed rest because the baby was 'falling out' of her body. She explained: 'I was three centimeters dilated for like a month and a half, two months, the baby was falling out.' Since breaking up with Scott in 2023, Jenner has been dating actor Timothee Chalamet.
