Television personality Kerry Katona has publicly announced her serious intentions to relocate to Dubai next year alongside her younger boyfriend Paolo Margaglione and all five of her children. The 45-year-old former Atomic Kitten star, who recently returned from a holiday in the United Arab Emirates, stated that moving to the Middle Eastern city is something she would "definitely consider" for the future.
Family Plans for a New Life Abroad
Currently residing in Cheshire, Kerry Katona shares her family with multiple former partners. Her eldest daughters Molly, 24, and Lilly-Sue, 22, are from her marriage to ex-husband Brian McFadden. Heidi, 18, and Max, 17, are her children with Mark Croft, while her youngest daughter Dylan-Jorge, 11, was fathered by the late George Kay. In her regular column for New! magazine, Kerry elaborated on her Dubai aspirations, highlighting the city's appeal.
"I can see why so many celebrities move to Dubai. It's definitely somewhere I'd consider moving to," she wrote. "It's safe, clean, it's lovely, everyone looks after each other – in fact I could probably see myself living there this time next year. And my children would come with me."
Joining a Celebrity Exodus to Sunnier Climes
Kerry Katona could become part of a significant trend of British celebrities who have exchanged the United Kingdom for Dubai's warmer climate and luxurious lifestyle in recent years. Notable examples include former footballer Rio Ferdinand, 47, and his wife Kate Ferdinand, 34, who moved their entire family to Dubai in August last year. Their children Shae, two, Cree, five, and Rio's daughter Tia, 14, all relocated with them.
Kate Ferdinand has commented that the move to Dubai has enabled Rio to be more "present" with his family, especially after he reduced his commitments as a television pundit for TNT Sports. Another reality television star, Joey Essex, has placed his £3 million mansion on the market as he prepares to make Dubai his permanent home, having split his time between Essex and the UAE for several years.
He will be joining fellow The Only Way Is Essex cast member Amber Turner, who relocated to Dubai following her breakup with Dan Edgar in 2023. Despite living abroad, Amber continues to travel back to the UK to film the popular reality series. Additionally, media personality Katie Price is reportedly planning to move to Dubai to be with her new husband Lee Andrews, whom Kerry met during her recent holiday.
Romantic Trip Cut Short by Work Emergency
Kerry Katona's recent Valentine's Day getaway to Dubai with her 33-year-old boyfriend Paolo Margaglione was unfortunately abbreviated after merely fourteen hours. The couple's sun-kissed romantic trip was interrupted when Paolo had to return urgently to the United Kingdom due to a "work emergency." According to his LinkedIn profile, Paolo serves as the managing director at Eco Bag UK, a company specializing in recycling plastic into refuse sacks for retail and wholesale markets. He previously worked as a personal trainer.
Rapid Relationship Development
The reality television star found romance with Paolo Margaglione after they met on the dating show Celebs Go Dating, which commenced filming in April. Kerry has expressed profound happiness in the relationship, stating, "I am very happy. I don't think I have felt like this in my life." She has previously boasted about their "unbelievable" intimate life together.
Since appearing on the programme, their relationship has progressed swiftly, with reports indicating they moved in together just two months after initially meeting. This rapid development underscores the seriousness of their partnership as they contemplate a major international relocation with Kerry's children in the coming year.
