Katy Perry has announced her first new single following her departure from American Idol. The singer revealed the title 'Woman's World', set for release on July 11, with a music video due the following day.
Perry shared a photo of herself in a bikini with mechanical legs, which she described as a centauress. The single marks her first solo release since her 2020 album 'Smile', with recent output limited to collaborations with Alesso and Thomas Rhett.
Perry left American Idol after seven seasons as a judge alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. Her final episode drew 5.64 million viewers, an 8% increase on the previous week and a season high. ABC has yet to announce her replacement for Season 23.
The singer is also scheduled to perform at Rock in Rio on September 20. Her last studio album, 'Smile', was released in 2020.
