Katie Price Criticised by Pride Group After Cancelling Fundraising Event

Katie Price has faced criticism from Milton Keynes Pride Festival organisers after cancelling her headline performance at their afterparty at short notice. The 47-year-old former glamour model had been booked to appear at the event, which was intended as a fundraiser for the not-for-profit organisation.

In a statement on Facebook, MK Pride expressed disappointment at Price's 'lack of accountability and professionalism', noting that despite repeated attempts to contact her management, she confirmed she would not honour the booking. The organisers emphasised that the decision was made at short notice and was entirely outside their control.

The statement added: 'While our community has consistently supported her, it is deeply regrettable that this support has not been reciprocated. Choosing not to meet her obligations to a charitable Pride event demonstrates a lack of accountability and professionalism.'

Despite the cancellation, the afterparty will proceed as planned at Pink Punters, with organisers working on a replacement act. Ticket holders are encouraged to retain their tickets in support of the free main festival, but refunds will be arranged for those who request them.

A representative for Katie Price told the Mirror: 'Katie is disappointed not to be appearing at the Milton Keynes Pride afterparty due to unforeseen filming commitments. She has great respect for Pride events and the LGBTQ+ community and wishes Milton Keynes Pride every success with their celebrations.'

The news comes as Price prepares to release new music, with a track written by X Factor contestant Craig Colton.
