Katie Price has told her Instagram followers that she received “devastating news” and urged them to “cherish every moment” in a post to her Instagram story. The former glamour model did not share specific details of the news, but she did confirm it was not about her mum.
Post follows mother's health update
Earlier this month, Katie spoke about her mum Amy's failing health, saying she had just “days” but could not visit as she had a cold. On her podcast with sister Sophie, they shared that their mum Amy, 74, is in hospital and “very poorly.” Amy has the lung condition Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
Katie said of her mum earlier this month: “My mum’s dying at the moment and I haven’t been able to see her [because] I’ve got a cold… She’s got days. I did promise my mum I’d see her tomorrow.”
Details of the cryptic message
In a post to her Instagram story late on Wednesday, October 28, Katie wrote: “Had devastating news tonight... love health and family is so important cherish every moment with loved ones and build memories.” She ended with: “And no it's not my mum”.
Speaking to sister Sophie on their podcast, Katie said the family was taking it “day by day” as they didn't know what would happen with their mum's health. She said: “At the moment, we're playing it day by day with Mum. We're all juggling, depends how my mum is each day to what we do. Obviously if Mum takes a turn, Mum's more important than anything.”
Family's ongoing care for Amy
The siblings confirmed they had been spending a lot of time with their mum in hospital of late. Katie said the whole family had been “trying hard” to take care of their mum but that Sophie got extra “brownie points” as she had been going to the hospital more.
Katie's post comes as news broke that she is set to appear in an explosive documentary about husband Lee Andrews. The 48-year-old married the Dubai businessman in January. Their marriage got off to a turbulent start, with a dramatic period of twists and turns as he went to prison. She recently declared the marriage was over. It is now believed that Katie will link up again with Sky following her Nothing To Hide documentary and will appear in a new programme alongside others associated with Lee.
