Katie Price has confirmed she will be featuring on the third series of her daughter Princess Andre's reality show, The Princess Diaries, after previously claiming she was "banned" from the ITV2 series. The former glamour model made the announcement on Instagram, responding to a post by Princess promoting the upcoming season.
Katie's Instagram Comment
Princess Andre, 18, posted a photo of herself at the ITV2 Reality Showcase earlier this week, dressed in polka dot capris and a black halter neck top. Captioning the post, she wrote: "Who's excited for @theprincessdiaries.tv series 3?" The third season is due to be released on July 28. Fans expressed support in the comments, but the most notable response came from Katie, who wrote: "Yes and I'm actually allowed in this show."
Previous Claims of Being Banned
Katie's comment comes after she previously alleged she was deliberately cut out of the show because she was considered "trash" who ruined her daughter's brand. Speaking on her podcast, The Katie Price Show, with her sister Sophie Price, the mother of four claimed she was not allowed to participate in photoshoots, signings, or other events with Princess due to the influence of her ex-husband Peter Andre and his management team, CAN Associates, led by Claire Powell.
"I want the best for Junior and Princess, and I would never get in the way of that," Katie said on the podcast. "Princess is taking that same path, trying to do the same as what I've done, which I absolutely love and adore about Princess. But I have not been allowed to go on any photoshoot, no signings or Superdrug openings or anything like that. Why? Because I'm not allowed and I'm not welcome."
She added: "Unfortunately, the management team and Pete won't allow me to be near her. They have made it clear: they won't allow Princess to do photoshoots with me, they won't allow me to go to any events with Princess - because they think I am trash, basically."
Truce Between Katie and Peter
Fortunately for Princess and her older brother Junior, their parents have called a truce this year. After years of animosity, Katie and Peter released a joint statement in February, declaring: "Katie Price and Peter Andre have decided to close the door on the past and move forward into a new chapter with positivity and respect. We are both focused on creating a calm and supporting environment for our children. We have reached a mutual agreement, both legally and personally confirming that neither of us will speak negatively about the other going forward."
The statement continued: "We want to stand united for our children. We are hoping this is the start of a positive relationship. We ask for understanding and support from both the media and the public as we move ahead."
Impact on Princess's Show
Katie's inclusion in the third series marks a significant shift, as she was previously only featured by phone in the second series. The Princess Diaries follows Princess Andre's life as a budding influencer and model, a path similar to her mother's career. Katie expressed pride in Princess's ambitions, saying: "Now, everyone knows she's my daughter. So what difference does it make? Like if it wasn't for me or Pete, Princess and Junior wouldn't be known anyway. And I find it an insult as I've been in the industry for 30 years."
