Katie Price Defends Husband Lee Andrews Amid Family Concerns

Katie Price has vehemently reinforced her belief that husband Lee Andrews is her perfect match, declaring he is 'not a con man or a scammer' and that she is currently 'the happiest I’ve ever been'. The former glamour model, aged 47, astonished her fanbase by marrying the self-proclaimed businessman, aged 42, in Dubai during January, merely ten days after their initial encounter.

Family Concerns and External Accusations

Despite her family expressing significant worries, multiple ex-partners of Lee making explosive allegations, and numerous claims about his finances, business expertise, and celebrity connections being exposed as false, Katie remains adamant that Lee is genuine. In a recent interview, she disclosed that her trust in her new spouse is so profound that she refused to sign a prenuptial agreement before their rapid wedding.

Financial Claims and Due Diligence

Asserting that she is 'not stupid', Katie explained that Lee—who has previously claimed to be both a millionaire and billionaire—has presented her with documents verifying his wealth. He also allegedly possesses proof of purchase showing he paid for their new £36 million home in Dubai entirely in cash. Katie added that she conducted her own background checks by speaking to his father and his Russian ex-wife, Cezara, concluding that Lee 'ticks every box'.

The enamoured mother of five enthusiastically told The Sun: 'I thought I'd been in love before but this feels different. It's not even about lust, it's just instant connection on all levels. I fell in love with him long before I had sex with him.' She recounted how they first connected after Lee appeared as a suggested follow on Instagram, prompting her to message him directly. Their communication escalated to up to five hours of daily messaging before they finally met in person in Dubai.

Family Reactions and Disapproval

However, Katie's loved ones were reportedly blindsided by the swift marriage and have voiced concerns about it being a potential scam. Katie dismissed these worries, emphasising that she is not a child and that 'my life isn't normal', so they must 'let me be me'. She acknowledged their feelings, stating: 'Of course my family are going to worry, I wouldn't expect anything different. They love me and they've seen me go through so much heartache, and the most horrific times.'

Katie's sister, Sophie, has subtly indicated her disapproval. In January, she shared a video of rolling British fields with the caption: 'This and never stepping foot in Dubai,' following the wedding news. Last month, she reposted a clip featuring physician Dr Gabor Maté discussing family approaches during difficult times, ending with the message: 'I'm not going to try and change you. I just hope you come to your senses at some point. But I'll be with you and I'll be supporting you.'

Children's Perspectives

While Katie's five children have yet to meet Lee, her eldest, Princess, 18, and Junior, 20, expressed on This Morning last month that the family is 'happy as long as she's happy'. Princess admitted: 'I've not met him,' as Junior added: 'Our mum is her own person, she's her own woman, she's going to do what she's going to do and at the end of the day, we're supportive of her as long as she's happy.'

Legal and Travel Complications

Lee and Katie maintain they are deeply in love and plan a larger UK wedding with family and friends soon, despite claims from his ex, Alana Percival, that he is legally bound to the UAE. Contrary to his portrayal as a high-flying business mogul, the Daily Mail revealed Lee was banned from leaving Dubai after spending three weeks in a UAE jail for allegedly forging his ex-girlfriend's signature to secure a £200,000 loan. He allegedly applied for a mortgage in personal trainer Dina Taji's name without her consent last year. Lee denied these allegations to the Daily Mail, calling them 'complete b******s'.

Since their wedding, Katie has returned to the UK alone twice, despite Lee's promises to join her. Plans for a honeymoon together also fell through, as they remained in Dubai. This week, Lee announced on social media that Katie is returning to Dubai via Oman, where he will pick her up, amidst Middle East conflicts following US and Israeli strikes on Iran. He stated: 'The flights have started to open. The flights are a bit backed up, but if not you can always go through Oman, it is next door and one of the neighbouring countries.'

The UAE's government travel advice currently warns: 'Due to the volatile security situation in the region and military strikes in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), we've raised our level of advice for the UAE to do not travel. The UAE airspace may open or close at short notice, impacting flights at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports. Retaliatory strikes are occurring across the Middle East region following military strikes on Iran. Military conflict in the region may result in widespread movement restrictions, and other travel disruptions.'
