Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson have ignited romance rumors after a flirty red carpet appearance at the premiere of their new film Happy Hours in New York. The former Dawson's Creek co-stars held hands and gazed into each other's eyes, sparking speculation among fans that they have rekindled their relationship.
Red Carpet Reunion
The pair, who first starred together as Joey Potter and Pacey Witter in the beloved 1998 teen drama, appeared very cozy at the event. Joshua, gripping the 47-year-old actress tightly, spoke fondly of their time together on set more than 25 years ago. 'The time that we spent together when we were young is very precious to both of us,' he said, holding her hands and pulling them to his heart. 'It is like one of the core personal and professional relationships in my life.'
Joshua praised Katie for creating a space for them to work together again. 'You wrote this for us. You did the whole thing. So it was magical for me to be able to come back. You waited for me, which I appreciated,' he added, as a mesmerized Katie looked on silently.

Happy Hours is a romantic drama set in New York City about two former lovers who reunite years after their relationship ended without closure. The film marks Katie Holmes' fourth directorial effort, following All We Had (2016), Alone Together (2022), and Rare Objects (2023). According to the official synopsis, 'Through a serendipitous gig, Liz photographs Andrew, and the pair of former lovers pick back up where they left off, rekindling their spark, confiding in one another, and working through old wounds. As the fantasy of a life with Andrew becomes closer to reality, Liz must decide whether she’s ready to let herself love again.'
James Van Der Beek Tribute
The reunion comes months after Katie penned a heartfelt handwritten letter following the death of Dawson's Creek star James Van Der Beek, who passed away at age 48 after a two-year battle with colorectal cancer. In her letter, Katie wrote, 'I formed some words with a heavy heart. This is a lot to process. I am so grateful to have shared in a piece of James' journey. He is beloved.' She also pledged support to his widow Kimberley and their six children, who face financial difficulties from his cancer care. 'Kimberly, we love you and will be here always for you and your beautiful children,' she added.
Katie's tribute continued: 'James, Thank you. To share space with your imagination is sacred - breathing the same air in the land of make believe and trusting that each others' hearts are safe in their expression...
