Sir Keir Starmer's downfall has been met with glee by author Kathy Lette, a self-described champagne socialist, following a family legal feud with the Prime Minister and his aides. Lette's daughter Georgie was among five former Labour staffers accused of leaking an internal report to undermine Starmer's leadership, a charge they denied. The legal case, reportedly costing £1.5 million, was dropped two years ago.
Lette, who has known Starmer since he worked for her ex-barrister husband Geoffrey Robertson, said: "I would never have singled him out as prime ministerial material. Basically, if Starmer bored any more he'd strike oil."
