Kate Ferdinand has been left devastated following the death of her pet chihuahua, Ronnie. The former TOWIE star, 34, shared a heartfelt montage of moments with her beloved dog on social media, captioning it: 'Heartbroken. Anyone that knows me knows how much I love my baby Rons. So so sad.'
Ronnie had been with Kate since her reality TV days, originally named by her then-boyfriend Dan Edgar. After marrying former footballer Rio Ferdinand in 2019, she renamed the dog Ronnie Ferdinand to fit in with the family. The tiny pooch made several appearances on The Only Way is Essex and was a constant companion through Kate's relationship with Dan.
Last year, the family relocated to Dubai, where Kate expressed concerns about Ronnie's health. She revealed the dog had been in heart failure for some time, but was settling well in the new environment. 'Moving was a big worry for us as I wasn't sure if he would be able to deal with the stress,' she said at the time.
Kate, who is stepmother to Rio's three children from his first marriage, as well as mother to Cree and Shae, had described the move as a 'new chapter' and 'fresh start'. The family now resides in the Al Barari gated community in Dubai.
