Kai Rooney, the eldest son of football star Wayne Rooney and Coleen Rooney, has publicly confirmed his first romantic relationship. The 14-year-old took to social media to share a photo of his girlfriend with the caption 'I love you'.
The image, taken in Adeje, Spain, shows the teenager's girlfriend posing in a black crop top and white skirt against a sunset backdrop. A friend commented 'Lucky boy' on the post, to which Kai replied 'Muy cierta' – Spanish for 'so true'.
Kai, who is currently in Manchester United's academy system, has expressed ambitions to follow in his father's footsteps. In a recent interview, he said: 'In ten years hopefully I will be playing in the Premier League for Man United... that's where I see myself but I've got to make it happen with the hard work.'
Aside from football, Kai has also ventured into modelling. In 2023, he featured in a sportswear campaign for Puma, posing in back-to-school attire. Proud mother Coleen shared the images on Instagram with a black heart emoji.
Kai was born in 2009, a year after Wayne and Coleen's wedding. The couple have three other sons: Klay, 8, Kit Joseph, 7, and Cass Mac, 5. Coleen has previously stated that she does not plan to have more children, saying their family is complete.
