Judge Rejects Sean Combs' Mistrial Bid in Sex-Trafficking Case

A federal judge has rejected Sean 'Diddy' Combs' latest motion for a mistrial in his sex-trafficking case. Judge Arun Subramanian ruled on Tuesday that the trial would continue, dismissing claims of prosecutorial misconduct raised by Combs' legal team.

Combs' defence alleged that prosecutors presented false testimony regarding an incident where Combs allegedly dangled Bryana Bongolan from a balcony in 2016. The defence argued that the government knew or should have known the testimony was materially false, citing inconsistencies and evidence that Combs was on the East Coast at the time.

The 55-year-old music mogul was arrested in September 2024 on federal charges including racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The trial has featured graphic testimony from multiple witnesses, including Combs' ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and former associates, detailing alleged abuse, coercion, and drug-fuelled 'freak-offs'.

This is the second mistrial request by Combs' defence in recent weeks. The previous request, made on May 28, was also denied. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York declined to comment on the latest motion.
