Real Madrid are reportedly considering a move for Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, having received 'positive feedback' regarding a potential transfer. The Spanish giants had previously shown interest in the 2022 World Cup winner during Carlo Ancelotti's tenure but did not formalise their pursuit.
According to The Athletic, Mac Allister remains highly regarded at the Bernabeu, with the club encouraged by earlier assessments. The 27-year-old's current contract at Anfield has just 18 months remaining, which could facilitate a deal.
Mac Allister joined Liverpool from Brighton in 2023 and has made 129 appearances for the Reds, scoring 17 goals. He recently netted twice in a 6-0 Champions League victory over Qarabag, later remarking: 'I love getting in the box and I love scoring goals. I know I don’t do it very often but I really like it.'
Real Madrid are also monitoring other midfield options, including Como's Nico Paz, AZ's Kees Smit, and Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton. Smit is valued at around €60 million (£51.6m), while Palace have set a £100m-plus price tag on Wharton.
In defence, Real are expected to bolster their right-back options following Dani Carvajal's anticipated departure this summer. Former Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold, who joined Real last year, has struggled with injuries, making only 11 appearances this season.
