TOWIE's Jordan Brook Diagnosed with Viral Meningitis and Encephalitis

Jordan Brook, star of The Only Way Is Essex, has revealed he has been diagnosed with viral meningitis and encephalitis, causing swelling on his brain. The 31-year-old shared the news in a candid video from his hospital bed on Instagram, urging followers to disregard online rumours about his health.

In the video, Brook explained that he is receiving round-the-clock care, including IV drips, antiviral medication, pain management, physiotherapy, and seizure monitoring. He noted that the swelling on his brain is worsening despite treatment, and he remains under close observation for minor seizure risks.

Brook, who is expecting his first child with partner Sophie Kasaei, said his focus is on recovering to be a healthy father. He praised Kasaei for her support and expressed gratitude to family and friends for their messages. He added that he has undergone CT scans, MRI scans, and lumbar punctures as part of his treatment.

According to the NHS, meningitis is an infection of the protective membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord, while encephalitis is inflammation of the brain itself. Both conditions can be life-threatening and require urgent hospital treatment. Brook emphasised that his diagnosis is serious and not minor, urging people to be cautious about speculation online.
