Joe Lycett has admitted that some dates on his upcoming nationwide stand-up tour are not selling well, and has taken to Instagram to urge fans to snap up tickets. The comedian, 38, is embarking on a tour titled "Do You Really Lycett? Is It, Is It Wicked? We're Lovin' It, Lovin' It, Lovin' It, We're Lovin' It Lycett", which launches on April 1, 2027.
Tour dates and venues
The opening performance is at Newcastle's Tyne Theatre & Opera House, with the tour visiting major cities and prestigious venues, including several nights at London's Eventim Apollo (June 30 – July 3, 2027) and Soho Theatre Walthamstow (November 18–19, 2027), plus his native Birmingham at the Birmingham Hippodrome (June 2027) and The Alexandra (November 2027). Other destinations include Dublin (Vicar St), Edinburgh (Playhouse), Cardiff (New Theatre), Belfast (Waterfront Hall), Glasgow (King's Theatre), and Manchester (Palace Theatre).
Despite appearing in one of Britain's most popular shows recently, the Celebrity Traitors star revealed there remain 'thousands' of unsold seats for the tour, which continues until February 2028.
Instagram plea goes viral
Joe posted a reel showing him grinning at the camera while overlay text stated, 'My management have asked me to make a video telling you that I'm going on tour in 2027/28, because Edinburgh is not selling well.' The comic then acknowledged that 'some shows are sold out' but warned Edinburgh 'has the potential to be very embarrassing'. He added more text, stating: 'Please come to see me in Edinburgh,' alongside a screenshot revealing a half-empty ticket venue. 'I have thousands of tickets to sell in Edinburgh.'
He continued in the caption: "Could do with shifting a few in London, Hull and Bradford and all." The post went viral, amassing over 23,000 likes. One fan declared: "I'm sure everyone of your shows will sell out." Another responded: "I'm coming!" A third enthused: "I have tickets for Edinburgh! We are flying over to see you from Prague!" While a fourth simply wrote: "FINE. Sold." Someone else confessed: "Won't lie, didn't know you were playing Edinburgh but I do now." Though one person cautioned: "Oasis play that weekend in Scotland."
Tour announcement and Celebrity Traitors
Joe announced the tour on Instagram back in June, telling his 1.5 million followers at the time: "Very excited to say I’m going back on tour, my first one since 2022. It’ll be silly and contain some jokes and stories."
The comedian recently appeared on Celebrity Traitors, proving to be one of the show's most entertaining players this series of the BBC programme, despite his strategy ultimately leading to his downfall. He competed as a Faithful throughout his entire stint, though desperately wanted to become a Traitor. Unlike most Faithfuls who dread recruitment, Joe was outspoken about wanting to be recruited, confessing his ambition was to "start as a faithful and end as a traitor".
Joe successfully helped unmask two Traitors during his tenure, but repeatedly attempted to walk a tightrope between Faithful and Traitor, openly pleading for recruitment. Facing intense pressure at the Round Table, Joe accidentally let slip a telling remark while speaking hypothetically about the Traitors' recruitment strategy, prompting fellow contestant James Blunt to flag that Joe's choice of words made him sound very much like a Traitor himself. With suspicions running high, the group voted overwhelmingly to banish him in the show's Friday, October 16 episode. As he made his exit, Joe revealed to his fellow contestants that, despite his attempts to defect, he had in fact remained a Faithful throughout.
