Singer Jessie J has confirmed she and Danish-Israeli basketball star Chanan Safir Colman have ended their romantic relationship after five years together. The 38-year-old Price Tag singer made the announcement on Instagram on Monday, July 20, 2026, stating the decision was made "some time ago."
Couple Welcomed Son Sky in 2023
The pair, who began dating in 2021, welcomed their son Sky in 2023. Jessie J shared a photo of the former couple smiling with their three-year-old son, captioning it with a message about their amicable split. She wrote: "Chanan and I decided to end our romantic relationship some time ago. It has been a sad and difficult situation, but we have been focused on navigating the change privately and positively for a healthy and happy co-parenting environment for our son, and ourselves."
Co-Parenting and Public Life
Jessie J emphasized that the split is not bitter, and they remain friends. She added: "We will always continue supporting each other with love, respect and care as friends and most importantly being Sky's Mum and Dad. So if you see us out and about together as a family, or posting each other on socials every now and again. That's exactly what we are doing." The singer addressed the announcement as necessary to prevent "rumours circulate or a false narrative."
Views on Marriage
The confirmation came after resurfaced interviews where Jessie J discussed her views on marriage. In a May 2026 interview with People magazine, she said: "We talk about it all the time, and we laugh about it all the time, and I'm sure we will, but we're not in any rush. I've always said that I'm not too fussed about getting married, and some people get really funny about that, but it's my own preference." She described marriage as "quite contractual."
Past Challenges
The couple had previously faced challenges including Jessie J's battle with breast cancer, from which she recently received the all-clear. Despite the split, they remain committed to co-parenting their son.
