Singer Jess Glynne has shared the heartbreaking personal crisis that prevented her from greeting her partner, Alex Scott, following the former footballer's early exit from I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!.
Glynne revealed that her mother suffered a major stroke and required urgent brain surgery during the filming of the reality show, forcing the musician to remain close to home instead of travelling to Australia.
A Heartbreaking Family Emergency
In a candid public statement, Jess Glynne expressed immense pride in her partner while explaining her conspicuous absence from the iconic bridge reunion. My woman might be out far earlier than she ever deserved, but I'm so unbelievably proud of her, Glynne said.
She continued, addressing the public's curiosity directly: I know people will wonder why I wasn't there at the end of the bridge, so I wanted to share something personal. Glynne described the situation as a really serious, life-altering time for my family, confirming that her priority was being where she was needed most. She added that Scott would always support that decision.
Alex Scott's Jungle Experience
Alex Scott was the first campmate evicted from the 2025 series of I'm A Celebrity on November 28th. The exit was announced by hosts Ant and Dec after what show insiders described as an incredibly close phone vote.
Speaking after her eviction, the football broadcaster described the mental challenge of camp life. It's like being free. It's been such an incredible experience, Scott said. Mentally it's been tough and I have struggled. She highlighted the relentless physical demands, specifically mentioning the constant tasks of fetching water and firewood.
During her time in the jungle, Scott was open about her relationship with Glynne. When asked by campmate Ruby Wax about marriage, Scott replied enthusiastically, I will get married to her, just waiting for her to ask, Rubes!
Jungle Secrets and a Prediction
The former Arsenal player also confessed to a camp misdemeanour, revealing she had smuggled banned salt into the jungle by hiding it in her sock. My campmates were in on it, she admitted. And now everyday they wish they had salt.
Following her departure, Scott backed fellow contestant Shona McGarty to win the series, predicting the experience would be transformative for the actor. It will change her and give the confidence to be brilliant at life, Scott stated.
The initial voting was reportedly dominated by fans of the popular duo Angry Ginge and Aitch, with millions participating. An insider noted technical difficulties, stating, It's been unprecedented…and one of the reasons why people have had issues with the app.
Meanwhile, in the camp, celebrities found relief as the weather warmed to 30 degrees, a welcome change from earlier storms. The drier conditions provided respite from an influx of biting insects and leeches that had plagued the camp in the damp, making for very uncomfortable conditions.
