Jesinta Campbell Regrets Breast Implant for Miss Universe

Jesinta Campbell has spoken candidly about her decision to undergo breast implant surgery to help her secure the Miss Universe Australia crown. The 34-year-old model and beauty pageant titleholder, who won the prestigious competition in June 2010, recently described the cosmetic procedure as her "most vain" moment.

A Difficult Decision at 18

Appearing on the Vain-Ish podcast, Jesinta revealed that she was encouraged by pageant officials to enhance her bust. "Getting a boob job to win Miss Universe Australia! When I was in that competition at 18 there was a standard of beauty. I got pulled aside, they were like, 'Look, you have the ability to go the whole way,'" she recounted. "They said, 'You are our number one pick. We think you could go great overseas, but you have no boobs.'"

The Gold Coast-born beauty admitted it was a tough choice at the time, but looking back, she has no regrets about the outcome. "I don't regret having it done because I went on to win the competition and placed very well overseas," she stated.

Mixed Feelings About the Surgery

Jesinta credited the procedure with opening doors to an amazing life and career. However, she confessed to sometimes missing her natural figure. "In saying that, if I had my time again... It's hard to say I regret it… but it's something I wish I hadn't done if that makes sense," she said. "I've had an amazing career for it, but... Now all I want is just the small little perky boobs I had."

In July 2013, she confirmed to The Daily Telegraph that she had undergone a "small procedure," taking her from a natural AA cup to a 12B. Her feelings have fluctuated over the years, first suggesting she wouldn't choose the surgery again, then acknowledging its benefits in 2014.

No Boost in Confidence

Interestingly, Jesinta revealed that the surgery did not enhance her confidence. "Did it make me feel more confident? No," she said. "It's a decision I stand by but not something I promote." Her admission sparked a national debate on body image and cost her endorsement deals with lingerie brands Bendon and Wonderbra.

She emphasized the importance of personal choice and medical advice. "It's a very personal choice... There are lots of things to take into consideration before moving forward," she explained. "For me personally, there were some very personal things I needed to consider and my decision came after I had consulted medical advice and educated myself on everything about the procedure."

Jesinta now lives with her husband, AFL star Lance "Buddy" Franklin, 39, and their three children on a rural estate in the Gold Coast Hinterland.
