Jeff Brazier has promised to tell his newborn granddaughter 'all about' Jade Goodey, following the birth of his first grandchild. The ITV presenter, 45, shared the emotional pledge on social media after his son Freddy and ex-girlfriend Holly Swinburn welcomed a baby girl named Isla Jade Brazier.
The couple, who split in November, chose Jade as a middle name in tribute to Freddy's late mother, Jade Goodey, who died from cancer in 2009. Holly previously explained that they wanted to honour Jade's memory without placing too much pressure on their daughter.
Jeff, who was married to Jade from 2002 to 2004 and also has son Bobby with her, posted a series of photos from the hospital on Instagram. One image showed him cradling baby Isla Jade with a broad smile, while another captured a family moment with Bobby, now an uncle, gathered around Holly's hospital bed.
In his caption, Jeff wrote: 'Dear Isla Jade. You have no idea how deeply loved you are. There are so many good people standing behind you, and a very special angel watching over you. Mummy and Daddy gave you her name, and we're going to tell you all about her.' He added that holding her was 'pure peace' and signed off as 'Grandad'.
The post drew congratulations from friends including Strictly's Dianne Buswell and Loose Women's Judi Love. Jeff, who split from wife Kate Dwyer last year after a brief reconciliation, has been overwhelmed with joy at becoming a grandfather.
