James Whale's Final Social Media Post Before Death

Broadcaster James Whale has died at the age of 74 after a long battle with cancer. His final social media post, shared on July 28, thanked fans for their kind messages as he lived out the 'last of his days'.

In the post on X, Whale shared a photo of himself with his wife Nadine and wrote: "Thank you for all your kind messages," accompanied by a whale emoji. He had been moved to a hospice recently, telling followers he had come to the 'end of his cancer journey'.

Whale continued his podcast, Tales of the Whales, with his wife until the end. In the final episode recorded on August 2, he told listeners: "We've had a good time together, haven't we?" Nadine replied: "The best," before Whale whispered: "I love you."

His friend Eamonn Holmes revealed on GB News that Whale's voice had been affected by his illness, making communication difficult. Christopher Biggins, who visited him in the hospice, said: "He looks terrific, but it’s his voice that’s the trouble."

Nadine confirmed his death on Monday, telling the Express: "James slipped away very gently this morning. It was a beautiful passing and he left with a smile on his face."
